Synopsis

Steamy Revenge Dark Romance Mafia Possessive Alpha Captive Enemies to Lovers

Sold to the most feared underworld syndicate in southern Europe by her deadbeat gambler father, twenty-two-year-old classical cellist Elena Bellini is brought in chains to the clifftop fortress of Dante 'Il Diavolo' Moretti—the ruthless, lethal Don of Sicily. Feared by interpol and rival cartels alike, Dante is known as a man without a soul. But the moment his piercing obsidian eyes fall upon the defiant, bruised beauty who refuses to drop her gaze, a dark, primal obsession takes root in his chest. Elena expects torture and execution; instead, she is given silk gowns, an ebony cello, and an ultimatum: become his Donna, or watch her family's debts be paid in blood. Trapped in a gilded cage overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, Elena tests Dante's lethal patience at every turn, matching his icy cruelty with unyielding fire. But as assassination attempts, cartel betrayals, and deep mafia conspiracies threaten to tear Sicily apart, their explosive hatred turns into a searing, uninhibited sexual passion that neither can control. Dante would burn the world to ashes to keep her safe, and Elena soon discovers that the devil who stole her freedom is the only man alive capable of worshiping her soul.

Chapter 1

The Midnight Abduction

The backstage corridors of Palermo’s Teatro Massimo were quiet, smelling of aged mahogany, velvet curtains, and the faint resin of violin rosin.

Elena Bellini wiped the bead of sweat from her collarbone with a silk handkerchief. Her fingers were still vibrating with the phantom hum of steel strings. For two hours, she had poured her soul into Elgar’s Cello Concerto in E minor, earning three standing ovations from the Sicilian aristocracy. The audience saw a rising star—a twenty-two-year-old virtuoso hailed as the future of European classical music.

They did not see the eviction notices stuffed inside her leather music folio, nor the bruise on her collarbone where her father had grabbed her the night before, demanding the remainder of her performance stipend.

Elena unlatched the velvet-lined fiberglass case of her antique German cello, carefully wiping down the fingerboard. As she reached for the zipper, the heavy backstage fire door clicked open behind her.

"Pack it quickly, signorina," a gravelly voice echoed through the dim hallway. "You have an appointment in Taormina."

Elena spun around, her heart jumping into her throat.
