Synopsis

Hot Steamy Revenge Alpha Male Werewolf Royal Bloodline Betrayed Luna

Luna Mira has spent five years holding together the Blackwood Pack, quietly running the treasury and border defense while Alpha Rowan bathed in the glory of victory. But at the Winter Solstice gala, Rowan announces Lady Vivianne as his favored consort and demands Mira accept a demotion. Without a word of pleading, Mira strips off her Luna ring, places it on the council table, and walks out into the blizzard, taking with her the secret Treaty of Silver Falls that only her mother's bloodline could ratify. In the forbidden Frost Peaks, Mira awakens the ancient Golden Lycan bloodline of House Valerius and commands an army of her own. As Blackwood collapses into ruin and Rowan is brought to his knees by his own betrayal, he begs for her return. But Mira will never again bow as an Alpha's wife—she returns as the Sovereign Queen of the North.

Chapter 1

The Gilded Cage

The frozen wind of the northern mountains howled like a wounded wolf against the granite ramparts of Blackwood Keep, rattling the iron-framed stained glass that looked out over forty square leagues of pine forest and snowbound valleys.

Inside the warmth of the high chamber, Luna Mira Valerius dipped her steel-nibbed quill into midnight-blue gall ink, meticulously recording the quarterly grain and silver tariffs into the grand ledger of the Blackwood Pack. For five continuous winters, ever since her father had died and her arranged union to Alpha Rowan Blackwood had been ratified beneath the pale light of the Blood Moon, Mira had been the unseen beating heart of this fortress.

She did not command the five hundred wolves of the vanguard. She did not rip open the throats of rogue scouts on the southern perimeter with bared fangs. Rowan claimed that glory for himself, returning from every border skirmish with his obsidian armor soaked in enemy gore, his chest swelling with the thunderous adulation of the pack warriors who chanted his name in the great banquet hall.

Yet it was Mira who calculated the rations that kept those five hundred warriors fed through four months of sub-zero blizzards. It was Mira who negotiated the delicate non-aggression treaties with the dwarven smiths of the Iron Spine mountains, trading timber and river pelts for forged Damascus steel weapons. It was Mira who quietly reviewed the ancient ward stones along the outer rim, pouring a drop of her own blood into the silver runes each month to maintain the ancient Treaty of Silver Falls—a boundary treaty whose original parchment sat locked within the brass-bound cedar chest beneath her bed, written in an archaic script that only her late mother had taught her to decipher.

"Forty thousand silver minas in reserve," Mira murmured to herself, her voice a calm, melodic contralto that barely disturbed the crackling cedar logs in the hearth. "Enough to subsidize the third garrison through the thaw and replenish the herbalist stores in the lower valley."

A sharp knock echoed at the heavy oak door.
