Synopsis

Hot Steamy Alpha Male Dark Romance Mafia Obsession

Elena Bell refused to bow. When the feared Moretti Camorra syndicate sent enforcers to extort her underground jazz speakeasy, she threw a glass of rye whiskey in their faces. But defiance comes with a price. Don Lorenzo Moretti, the ruthless 'Devil of Lower Manhattan', arrives to claim what is owed. Expecting a terrified victim, Lorenzo finds an untamed spitfire with copper hair and eyes of fire. In a world of blood and shadows, the Don makes an ultimatum: her club, her body, and her soul belong to him.

Chapter 1

The Tribute Refused

The heavy brass door at the end of the cobblestone alley in SoHo had no sign, no neon lights, and no velvet rope.

To the untrained eye, it looked like the delivery entrance of an abandoned textile factory. But behind that reinforced steel door lay *The Velvet Lounge*—the most exclusive, uninhibited underground jazz speakeasy in Lower Manhattan.

A smoky saxophone wept a sultry blues melody from the dimly lit stage, while Wall Street elites, corrupt city officials, and bohemian artists sipped bespoke cocktails in plush velvet booths beneath copper chandeliers.

Behind the polished mahogany bar stood Elena Bell.

She wore a backless emerald-silk slip dress that hugged her curves like water, her thick, copper-red curls pinned up in a loose Gibson roll that left the elegant column of her throat bare. In her right hand, she held a crystal mixing glass, stirring a Manhattan with the effortless grace of someone who had built this sanctuary from the floorboards up with her own blood, sweat, and inheritance.

At 1:15 AM, the heavy velvet curtain by the entrance parted.
