Synopsis

Hot Steamy Dark Romance Captive Mafia Capo Violence

In the blood-soaked underworld of Chicago, Lorenzo 'The Reaper' Falcone is a myth made of gunpowder and cold steel. As the supreme Capo of the Falcone Outfit, he leaves no enemies breathing and shows no mercy. But when an explosive ambush on Michigan Avenue leaves Isla Moretti—the defiant, untouchable daughter of his bitterest syndicate rival—in his bloody clutches, Lorenzo doesn't execute her. Instead, he chains her to his dark empire as his captive bride. Isla swears she will slide a silver stiletto between his ribs before she bends to his commands. But trapped inside his fortress estate, surrounded by lethal turf wars and carnal shadows, the line between mortal hatred and blistering, forbidden lust is set ablaze. Lorenzo will wage a war against the entire world just to keep her on her knees before him.

Chapter 1

Blood on Michigan Avenue

The bitter November rain turned the asphalt of Michigan Avenue into a slick mirror reflecting the neon glow of Chicago’s skyline. It was past midnight when the black armored Cadillac Escalades screeched to a halt at the intersection of Adams and Michigan.

Inside the rear cabin of the lead sedan, Isla Moretti gripped the mother-of-pearl handle of the five-inch switchblade concealed beneath the sleeve of her cashmere coat. Her heart was beating a frantic rhythm against her ribs, but her dark green eyes were steady, cold, and calculating.

"Status on the rear flank?" Isla demanded, her voice cutting through the hum of the engine.

"Clear, Donna Isla," the bodyguard in the passenger seat answered, clutching an automatic submachine gun. "The drop at the port was clean. We have the ledger."

They didn't know they were already in the jaws of a wolf.

Without warning, the headlights of an eighteen-wheeler flared from a side alley. The colossal steel grille slammed into the side of the Escalade with deafening, bone-shattering force. Metal crumpled like paper, airbags detonated in blinding clouds of white powder, and the luxury SUV spun across the wet asphalt, slamming into a concrete light pole.
